JOHKASOU DEFINITION

JOHKASOU DIFINITION

Jokaso in Japanese is a compound word, including: "Johka" means purification, and "sou" means tank.

The idea of Jokaso, a septic tank, used to separate liquids from solid wastes is originated from the Meiji period (1868 - 1912), when the sanitation act of 1900 stipulated that human feces are prohibited from discharging into drains, sewers and public water storage facilities. Instead, it should be treated with a state approved tank. This tank is a combination of a septic tank and a drip water filter (After 1954, this tank was called Jokaso Night soil or Tandoku-Sori Jokaso.) This filter is a precursor of the Jokaso system today.

The first Jokaso in Japan was installed in 1911. But until 1944, when building sanitary standards were enacted, the term Jokaso officially appeared in this standard, as well as in the Japanese law system.
In 1970, researchers improved and developed a combined wastewater treatment system that could simultaneously treat both black and gray wastewater, and was named Gappei-Shori Jokaso (Gappei means combination and Shori means treatment). In 1983, Jokaso law was promulgated to regulate the whole process: production, installation and management of Jokaso systems under the law - establishing a Jokaso technician licensing system. This has been accompanied by the development of the Jokaso mass-production technology with Fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) based body.

According to the above historical milestones, Jokaso has had more than 70 years of formation and development in Japan, initially as a simple combination of a septic tank and a drip water filter. Over time, along with the completion of the law to regulate the production and use of Jokaso, Jokaso's technical innovation and structure development appropriate for buildings of various uses is also carried out.
It can be so understood that Jokaso is a wastewater treatment system used for villas, households, apartments or hotels and restaurants... (Jokaso can simultaneously treat all wastewater from toilets, bathrooms, washing machines and kitchens). Jokaso is a system that helps purify wastewater through anaerobic and aerobic microorganism treatment processes to remove BODs and other organic, inorganic, and harmful bacteria in wastewater.

Advantages of Jokaso
- Advanced technology, high treatment efficiency, and long-term stability
- After-treatment wastewater quality meets international standards, better than QCVN 14:2008/BTNMT and water after treatment can be used for tree watering, car washing, firefighting or art of making miniature landscapes.
- Not causing odors.
- Long life (over hundred years), resistant to seismic tremors due to earthquakes, less damage in the ground subsidence environment, and after installation, the aesthetic of the works is guaranteed.
- Solid structure, consisting of one or more modules, suitable for all processing capacity from 1m3/day and night to 1400m3/day and night or more.
- Easy to move to new locations without affecting internal devices.
- Reasonable investment and operating costs. Easy operation, maintenance and trailing suction.
- Short construction time (2 - 30 days) depending on scale of treatment.
- Suitable for installation in households, villas, hotels, restaurants, high-rise buildings, eco-resorts, resorts, hospitals...
